25 Before 25

Last fall, I jotted down a list of twenty-five things I wanted to do before turning twenty-five.
I hadn't looked at the list in quit some time, but upon looking it over again I was surprised at what I had accomplished in the past year...and quite unintentionally.

1) Visit 21 states I’ve never been to before
2) Be completely finished with my post secondary education
3) Read The Complete Works of Shakespeare
4) See A Fine Frenzy in concert
5) Live in Manhattan, even if not permanently
6) Go to an NFL game
7) Hunt down a copy of every Beatles album on vinyl
8) Take a road trip from one side of the country to the other
9) Perfect marshmallow frosting
10) Take my little sister on a trip to Manhattan
11) Go to a drive in movie theater
12) See every Quentin Tarintino movie ever made
13) Volunteer for a center aiding girls who struggle with eating disorders
14) Become a writer - a real, published writer
15) Learn how to be my own mechanic
16) Prepare and entire Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner by myself
17) Take a class on photography
18) Go to a show during fashion week
19) Fall in love - not just love someone, but be in love
20) Learn to play the guitar
21) Take a week and go back to visit Portland, Maine
22) Attempt to learn to surf
23) Travel around Europe
24) Revamp my love to sew
25) Bake a cheesecake

At the time I wrote this list, I had every intention of studying under the baking and pastry program at the Ai of Seattle. Here I am a year later, with and education in professional photography.
Whoa.
Can't wait to see how many things I'll have ticked off this list by next year!

Pumpkin Carving!

Last night I got together with the girls and carved pumpkins!
And for the umpteenth time I learned that I'm not very good at carving pumkins. I managed to break off the rhine (or whatever it's called- the green, stem thing) and the top piece fell into my pumpkin and got stuck.
But it was fun :)

Yankee Candle Love

If you really want to treat yourself and immerse your nose in a glorious scent, go buy Yankee Candle's Farmers Market and Spiced Pumpkin candles. In case you haven't figured it out I love fall, and these candles have been giving my home that wonderful Autumn atmosphere!
Now I can't wait to go pick out more Autumn candles, like Maple Pancakes and Be Thankful!
And of course Christmas candles like Winter Wonderland, White Christmas, and Peppermint Swirls :)

Fall in Love With Fall

This month I have done nothing but immerse myself in my love for the start of the holiday season.
From that first sighting of changing leaves, I have...
ate lots and lots of butternut squash soup
baked a pumpkin pie
made apple cider at least once a week
faithfully watched my New York Giants every Sunday after church
switched up my iced soy lattes for hot ones
made cinnamon cream "cheese"
attended my hometown's annual Apple Days festival
broke out the boots and scarves (!)
bought my Halloween costume
walked around my lovely town, photographing every color leaf in sight
and this Sunday evening, I plan on carving pumpkins with my friends

Isn't fall grand?

And if you think it is, you need to run out and buy the November issue of Vogue and immerse youself into move insanely gorgeous images of this cover girl.

Once you're done with that, move onto the fashion spreads and pour over more amazing photos and incredible fashion. They were only taken by my hero, Patrick Demarchelier, after all.

Cabin in the Woods

Well these lovely photos above were taken at the same photo shoot I modeled for by Jennifer Mooney.
And I kind of love them.
I hope you do too.

Meet Eleanor Rigby

This is my pup, Eleanor Rigby.
And I love her.
But Mommy's mad at me for chewing on her favorite pair of heels last night.
I might have to buy her a new pair!

Little Things I Love

Getting new issues of Lucky in the mail :)

Lucky is by far my most favorite fashion magazine.
As much as I love the high fashion of Vogue, I love Lucky for the simplicity. The feature very wearable clothes that fit perfectly with my own style. I take more inspiration from Lucky than anywhere else when it comes to my wardrobe.
It's also kind of my dream to work as a photographer for Lucky :)

My Life As a Model

{photo by Lauren Evans}

Ok, so I'm not really a model, but I had the amazing opportunity to model for some of my former classmates at Rocky Mountain School of Photography.

It was a great day consisting of five photographers (plus me) obsessing over the beautiful medium format camera used for the shoot, lighting techniques, and wisdom handed down to us by photographer and instructor, Joe Lavine. I was promised all the photos would be sent to me once they've been edited and I promise to post them when I can.

In the meantime enojy more beautiful photos from the shoot by Lauren Evans.
